In Norfolk, more than 2,000 people use Direct Payments from Adult Social Care to employ their own Personal Assistants (PAs). This model supports independence and personalised care—but navigating it can feel daunting without the right guidance and support.

To support Individual Employers, the Norfolk Care Association (NorCA) hosts a dedicated sub-group focused on sharing experiences, accessing expert advice, and improving confidence in managing care. Whether you’re new to Direct Payments or well-established, this group provides a friendly space to connect and learn.

·      Sessions are held online via Microsoft Teams, four times a year. We are trying to have face to face meetings once a year with the option of joining online.

·      Hear from experts at Norfolk County Council and other organisations

·      Exchange experiences with fellow Individual Employers

·      Discover tools, training, and resources for employing PAs effectively

·      Enable your voice to be heard and influence identified need for change.

“I’ve been part of the group since its inception and found it genuinely helpful. Sharing experiences with other Direct Payment users and learning from professionals has made a real difference.” – Martin, Group Participant

The Individual Employers Sub Group meeting is on 23rd February 2026. More details and to join click here https://www.norfolkcareassociation.org.uk/meetings/individual-employers-subgroup-meeting-17th-february-2026/
